Something about Chromosomes?
(July 2011)
“Having toured and performed two very different shows, we as a theatre company felt it was important to keep up momentum and continue building up a catalogue of material.
First was the family show – a two-man adaptation of C.S.Lewis’ classic; ‘The lion, the witch and the wardrobe’, which we called ‘The Tiger, the snitch and the chest of drawers’.
Then, there was the all mouth and more trousers side to the New Testament; journeying with the Tentmaker as his passions flipped from one extreme to the other.
Next was show number 3, another one man show to be written and performed by myself (Dai), a show which explores several biblical characters in the hope to find the most holy, exploring their characters, their strengths but also their faults.
Yes, the show was going to be called… ’Scripture Sirs’…na, that’s not right, hang on…the show was going to be called… ‘Blokes from the Bible’…na, too obvious. Something a bit more subtle, maybe stealing a concept from Chris Martin, yes…now I’ve got it. The show will be called ‘The XY Tour’ (you know as in Chromosomes?)
At present, the show (which was directed by my good friend Steve Stickley), will be due to tour again January-February 2012.
