So What is ‘The Tentmaker’?

A good question. I think the synopsis gives a pretty good explanation..

 ”…A one man show focusing on the life of the tentmaker; aka Paul. Utilising a storytelling style, Dai Woolridge communicates the journey of a man who changed the face of the early church; whose New Testament letters have been a major part in us understanding how we run the race. From coat rail, reading in Braille, to jail – this is Paul’s journey, in a way you haven’t seen it before.”

 

Elaborate

The Tentmaker is Paul the apostle. Ever wondered how you can fit pretty much the whole of Acts and all Pauls Epistles into a one hour slot? Ever wondered when Paul wrote to the church of Galatia? Or what exactly was his ‘thorn in the flesh’? Want to be entertained and challenged? Want to understand the importance of the Gospel? Want to relate to the man who made Christianity international? Want to be inspred to live out the Gospel even more? If any of these resonate with you; I think ‘The Tentmaker’ will be right up your street…(I’m hoping this isn’t just a metaphor!)

 

Who’s the audience?

- Young and old…The show is aimed at secondary school upwards to OAP’s. I would encourage churches to not just see this show as ‘something for the youth’; but for the whole church congregation.

- ‘Church goers’ and ‘never been to church goers’…those familiar with the epistles and Pauls story in Acts will engage with some of the content on a different level to those who don’t. On the one level; it is an entertaining one man show to bring along friends, on the other it presents the story of Paul in a new light and with a fresh perspective.
