Teachers and PSE professionals
I heard about Going Public and their TIE piece In Search of a Happy Ending through Ysgol Gyfun Plasmawr who run an excellent PSE programme. I had been told by other PSE Coordinators that Going Public had delivered to several Cardiff schools and was considered entertaining, engaging and a good educational tool for supporting the teaching of SRE. Having met the team and saw a little of what they actually provided I am keen for all my secondary schools to access the performance and have decided to fund the delivery of the TIE piece. I think that the production will prove to be an effective educational tool for the delivery of SRE.![]()

These presentations are both lively and very relevant for young people. As a catholic school it can be difficult to find an outside group that is supportive of our teaching. Going Public have found a perfect balance between giving young people all the information they need whilst emphasising the fact that sex is best when it is in a loving relationship.![]()

I am so encouraged by Going Public. You can get software on sex and STIs but it is the relationship aspect that you need to tackle. It is so important to look at the preventative rather than the cure; that is exactly what Going Public are doing. Having the theatre company come into our school has had an almost immediate effect upon our pupils. We intend to continue a rolling programme with our year 9 and 10s.![]()

As a PSE coordinator I observed a Going Public presentation at a school in one of Wales’ most deprived areas. The presentation was professionally delivered, fast-moving and thought provoking, keeping the attention of the pupils throughout. Young people were challenged to think about the issues, their own views and current lifestyle. A Going Public presentation would complement any school’s sex and relationship education.![]()
